The Bank of Nova Scotia, is a Canadian multinational bank. It is the third largest bank in Canada by deposits and market capitalization.

Scotiabank offers a range of products and services including personal and commercial banking, wealth management, corporate and investment banking.

Founded in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1832, Scotiabank moved its executive offices to Toronto, Ontario, in 1900.

Scotiabank has billed itself as “Canada’s most international bank” due to its acquisitions primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean, and also in Europe and parts of Asia.

The Bank of Nova Scotia was founded in 1832 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a British colony at that time. The bank was incorporated by the Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia on March 30, 1832.

The bank launched its branch banking system by opening in Windsor, Nova Scotia. The expansion was limited to the Maritimes until 1882, when the bank moved west by opening a branch in Winnipeg, which later closed, but the bank continued to expand into the American Midwest.
